Reedsburg school students share their New Year’s plans
The following students were asked what they planned to do for New Year’s Eve or goals for 2021. Responses are as follows.
Ms. Sterkowitz’s fourth-grade class, Prairie Ridge Intermediate School
My New Year’s resolution is to have fun playing inside and outside in the snow with my family and my dog. Sadie loves when you throw snowballs up in the air. She will jump in the air to get the snowballs and then growl.

We watch movies on New Year’s Eve. I get a day off of school until the 4th of January. We play Sorry. It's a game, and that's it. Oh, and we bake cookies, yeah!

For this year, my New Year’s resolution is to go to bed earlier. Usually my sister and I stay up late, so I'm trying to go to sleep earlier. Also, I'm still sticking to my last year's resolution which is going outside more.

Our family's tradition every New Year's Eve is we go and celebrate with friends. Sometimes we go to the parades people host on the street. We usually have a fire in our backyard, and launch fireworks at our house on New Year’s Day.

My family's New Year’s Eve tradition is to have people come over. We set out snacks for them. Then we play some games. We play: Speak Out, Uno, and Yahtzee. We watch the ball drop in New York. Then we celebrate with confetti.

This is my New Year’s family tradition. My mom, dad, my brother and I stay up until midnight! We play our games and eat cake. When it's 12:00 am, we all scream, “Happy New Year!”

My New Year’s resolution: I will be more responsible and stop jumping on my furniture. I jump on my desk and bed. There is a gap in between them. I get hurt sometimes, but not much. There you go. I will try to stop.

My family's New Year's Eve is simple. We eat and drink cool stuff while we watch movies and listen to music. We watch the ball drop, then go outside and scream HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! We get to stay up late, too. That's my tradition.

My New Year's resolution is to eat more fruits and vegetables, so I can be ready for football and baseball. I want to be ready so I will be faster for football. For baseball I want to be able to hold a bat with one arm.

My New Year’s resolution is practicing archery every week until bow hunting season. Bow hunting takes more practice than gun hunting. Practicing is more fun because it gives me something to do.

For my New Year’s tradition, my family does a small party for only the people in the house. Then my parents go to the store and get these small bottles with grape juice inside. Lastly, we all sit down and watch scary movies all night.

New Year’s at our house is really fun! We play family games all night as we wait until midnight. At midnight, we get to drink sparkling juice and cheer to the new year. I am excited for my family’s New Year’s traditions every year!

My New Year's Eve tradition is that my siblings and I stay at my grandma's house and watch the ball drop. We play games all night because it's a really long night. After my sister is sleeping, we eat brownies and ice cream. After midnight we go to bed.

My New Year’s Eve tradition is having a party with hockey families. We get together and have a big dinner, everyone has to make or bring something. Our hockey team tournament is a big tournament somewhere in the state. Last year we went to Hayward. We won third place.

My New Year's resolution is to play with my little sister Livi more because I always play with my brother Carter and my other sister Mya. I plan to color with my little sister, Livi, next year. She loves to color. Happy New Year, everyone!

One tradition that me and my family do is we were different colors which represents a different meaning. Like for example if you were a red shirt or pants even socks or shoes or any red piece of clothing that means love that you'll find love that year if you were gold that means you'll get money either you worked for it or they gave it to you and last but certainly not least green which means hope like if something bad happened you wore green on new years so there will be hope during the bad situation. That's my family tradition.

My New Year's resolution is to write a 12 chapter book.I will take 12 days and every day I will write one chapter. My book will be about me going into Minecraft the book will be called: Cube Comer. I will start normal and fight mobs in the game.

What are your traditions on New Year's Eve? My traditions are trying to stay up for the ball drop, but I never do. Me and my family like to eat a lot of food on New Year’s Eve, like chips and cookies. We also like to watch movies and play board games to try and stay awake.

If you aren’t familiar with tamales then you’re probably living under a rock!It's a very popular Mexican food! Something we also do sometimes is go to someone else's house for New Years. We do it almost all the time but it’s fun!

My new year's resolution is to build a shed bigger. I want to build this shed bigger because I like to build stuff. I also don’t want the animals to freeze because they are so cute. I want to put 2x4s and 2x6s on the shed to make it bigger.

My name is Cormac and I am in Ms. Williams’ fourth grade class at Prairie Ridge. Every New Year’s Eve, we have a glow stick dance party! We dance to loud music in the dark. The only lights on are the Christmas tree and tons of glow sticks.

For New Years we will wait for are whole family to come to our house and then when they get here we'll have lots of food even the dogs and animals will. We will have chicken mash potatoes stake rice tacos evan the dogs get rice chicken. Then after dinner we will relax and watch tv and wait until we digest all of our food then we will play with each other play board game and biking and light of fireworks and i will play with the dogs. And then we will celebrate with desert we will have pumpkin pie cherry pie jello or pudding.

For New Year’s Eve we visit are cousins and we also do challenges and it is real fun. We have water fights and we eat and ride our bikes and barbecue to gather and we go to are granny’s house. Me and my brother play the PS4 and it is super fun. At the end of the day we have a sleepover with tv, toys, games, scary stories and some people are sleeping and we do pranks on them while they are sleeping we pour ice cream on them and it is funny.
