Wednesday was a bittersweet day for leaders at the School District of Reedsburg.
On one hand, voters agreed with an effort to expand learning opportunities in trades at Reedsburg Area High School. However, they also said “no” to allowing the District to exceed its revenue limit.
Students at Wisconsin Heights joined some neighboring chapters and took the trip to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis October 23-26. They also attended tours along the way to a variety of Agriculture related businesses.

Sauk Prairie High School students welcomed the new school year with their traditional Homecoming last week. As part of the pomp and circumstance they held a parade outside the High School. On a picture-perfect fall day they entertained adults and children alike with their school spirit. For more photos see page 11.
The September Above The Line theme at Grand Avenue School was “Caring.” The students listed below received awards from their classroom teacher or staff member who felt that they showed extra caring characteristics this past month. Congratulations to these students!
The School District of Reedsburg will provide information about this fall’s referendum.
It will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 15 at Reedsburg Area High School.
Members from the District, EUA and Kraemer Brothers will be on site to provide details. Guests will have the chance to learn more and take a tour of the school.
While the hoopla raged across the Wisconsin Heights community in the month of September over football, two very regular board meetings also took place where the school district got on with routine and critical business.
Homecoming week for Wisconsin Heights was capped off with a parade through the streets of Black Earth and a blowout victory for the football team. Residents gathered on streets that were perhaps tentatively toilet papered earlier in the week. Under a blue sky and unseasonable fall weather the floats and fire trucks filed past.
Sauk Prairie High School and Middle School went into a secure hold and local police were called after “a student reported that he saw a person outside near the high school campus who showed him a weapon or fake weapon,” on Thursday, September 19th, according to a communication sent out later that day by District officials and a police press release
